But, if you want to host dinner or other parties, then you will want to have a clean home to invite them into. How do you do this without it overwhelming your long to do list?
Check out this list of tips to make it easier:
Clean the dishes after you eat. This may seem like a no brainer, but if the dishwasher doesn’t get loaded or unloaded on a regular basis, it stacks up pretty quickly! And for those who don’t have one or have dishware that can’t go in the dishwasher, it stacks up twice as fast.
If you don’t already have a system, then consider figuring out a designated spot for jackets, purses, school bags, etc. The entrance way will be someone’s first impression of your home, and if it’s crowded then it sets a bad example for the rest of the home.
Do a load of laundry every day. This will ensure you always have clean clothes, and it doesn’t seem like quite so much of a project every day.
For items like dusting and vacuuming, try to do this right before the party, because they are chores that need to be done often. Floors can get dirty pretty quickly!
Take a day to deep clean the rooms you think will be used the most. If you’re hosting an event, then it can be hard to deep clean every aspect of your home, so stick to the ones you know people will be in.
Stay on top of trash! It can accumulate quickly, and it can leave behind germs and odors. Make sure that it’s getting outside once it’s full, so you don’t take up too much room inside the home. While you’re at it, when is the last time your garbage can has been cleaned?
Clean up after yourself in the bathroom. Especially for women, who use more items and products to get ready in the morning, take a moment every morning to put everything back that you used. This will make wiping down the bathroom far more manageable.
If you follow these tips, doing any sort of deeper cleaning will just be icing on the cake.
